Modul 04WI2010 - E-Participation

Students, who have successfully passed this module, are equipped with the following competencies:

• Students can describe the domain of e-participation and separate e-participation from e-government and other related fields.
• Students have knowledge about theories and methods of e-participation.
• Students are knowledgeable about tools and technologies used in e-participation and they are capable of selecting the best suitable e-participation instruments for a given participatory endeavour.
• Students are able to apply a structured engineering approach to plan, analyze and design e-participation projects.
• Students are familiar with e-participation initiatives and are able to categorize and assess these cases along methods used, tools and technologies deployed, success of the project and impact generated.
• Students know key success criteria, different evaluation methods, and how successful current and past e-participation projects are/were.
• Students can estimate the impact and value-add of e-participation.

Overall aim of the module is to get an overview and understanding of e-participation as a research field, in terms of practical applications as well as in terms of designing and evaluating e-participation solutions.

Exercises along the classes of the lecture and seminar works with presentations and discussion at the end of the semester in the context of the content of the lectures.
