Computational-linguistics methods applied on the empirical research of pedagogic practice

This research project (10/2005-03/2008) was funded by the initiative ``Wissen schafft Zukunft'' by the Ministerium für Bildung, Wissenschaft, Jugend und Kultur, Rheinland--Pfalz, Germany.
The project was located both at the Landau and the Koblenz campus (head Prof. Dr. I. Hosenfeld and Prof. Dr. K. Harbusch)
In Koblenz, two prototypical systems were developed and partially evaluated:

Die Satzfee/The Sentence Fairy
COMPASSII, a paraphraser for essay-writing and teaching German as a foreign language (cf. ENLG paper, WORDCALL-2008 paper)
