Reserving group consultation slots for student-taught lessons,
individual and group sessions for any aspects of the Anglo-American Studies courses,
and individual consultations for theses (wissenschaftliche Prüfungsarbeiten, Bachelorarbeiten, Magisterarbeiten, Masterarbeiten)
in Anglo-American Studies in my room F 121.

Students can always see me informally (but not for lesson consultations) during my regular office time during the semester and on my office days during the break without appointment.

Members of the OLAT project group "Anglo-American Studies Students" can reserve special slots at other times using the special project group calendar. If you're not a current student and wish to be enrolled in this project group to make use of the special calendar, then please contact me.

Consultations usually take place on Wednesdays between 10 and 3 and on Thursdays between 10 and 1 during the semester, but the exact times I'm available are always given at the top of the day in the special OLAT calendar for the project group Anglo-American Studies Students. Please follow exactly the following guidelines for reserving slots.

1. Choose the Anglo-American Studies Students calendar. (You have to become a member of this project group first.) Remember that you have to choose this calendar; publishing a time in your own personal calendar (the one that OLAT offers you first) won't be visible for anyone else.

2. You can get an overview of all the dates I'm available by using the calendar's "Search Events" function with the key words "AS consultations" (but not the exact times - you'll have to click on the individual dates to see the exact hours I'm available on Wednesdays and Thursdays as these might vary from week to week). The individual dates are given at the top of the days I'm available. Find a date and time that's convenient for you and / or for all members of the group.

3. Do NOT click in the slot I've created, but click in the blank line at the time of your choice. If you insert your appointment in the slot at the top that I've created, then you'll erase my original message!

4. Ensure that no one has taken this slot yet. If you're reserving a slot for group consultations in preparation for your topics lesson, then please ensure that no more than three other groups have already reserved times on this day.

5a. If you wish to make an appointment for your topic lesson consultation, please put the name of the course ("M3Fr-am" for the Module 3.2 seminar on Friday morning, "M3Fr-pm" for the Module 3.2 seminar on Friday afternoon, "M6" for the Module 6.1 seminar) in the subject box followed by the number and name of your group and the 30-minute slot you choose. For example: "M3Fr-am9 The Royals" for the Friday morning seminar group 9 or "M3Fr-pm11 Yogi Bear" for the Friday afternoon seminar group 11 or "M6-1 Women United" for the Module 6 seminar group 1.

5b. If you wish to discuss my evaluation of your lesson or your written work in the course or any other aspect of our Anglo-American Studies courses, please include your name(s) in the subject box (with "paper evaluation" or "lesson evaluation") and choose a 15-minute slot.

5c. If you wish to discuss your final thesis, please include your name in the subject box and "thesis" and choose a 15-minute slot.

6. Use the location box for special messages: for example, if you've decided to change a date or time you'd made earlier or if you have a special request. Please always include details about the research paper so that I'll bring my corrected version of your paper to our session.

7. Remember to indicate the beginning and the end of your 30-minute or 15-minute slot in the dates part of the entry page and to give both start and end times exactly.

8. Ensure that you've chosen "public" as your visibility option in the Anglo-American Studies Studies calendar so that everyone can see your choice and know that this slot has now been taken.

9. Click the "save" button.

Please delete any slots you no longer need yourself so that others can make use of available times. I'll usually be deleting free slots in our OLAT calendar two days in advance, so please don't try to reserve slots at the last minute.

Please refer to the topics lessons web page for more information about consultation sessions for students teaching AS lessons.
