Information for the Anglo-American Area and Cultural Studies components of Module 3 and Module 6
for all students doing the Bachelor of Education degree with English as a subject

Module 3.1 is a lecture providing you with a general introduction to topics in Anglo-American area and cultural studies, and Module 3.2 is a seminar giving you the chance to choose specific topics to work on intensively and to gain teaching practice. Most students take the lecture and seminar in the same semester; but neither lecture nor seminar have any prerequisites, so you can take either whenever you please. After you pass the module exam, you gain 6 credits. Most students need to plan at least five to ten hours weekly outside of class for preparation and review in order to get full benefit from the lecture and seminar and to have the best chance of passing the module exam with a good grade.

Module 6.1 is an option for those students pursuing teaching degrees for secondary schools who wish to gain further teaching practice while learning more about American and British area and cultural studies topics.

Requirements for Anglo-American Area and Cultural Studies
(Modules 3 and 6)

While no English courses in the B.Ed. degree programs require Prüfungsvorleistungen anymore, I encourage everyone to try and attend my courses regularly before attempting the Module 3 module exam and the Module 6 exam.

Students attending seminars will benefit most if they complete as successfully as many of the following requirements as possible:

I'll be contacting all students who have enrolled in KLIPS after the enrollment period ends (for WiSe 2011 after 9 October) with more information about the OLAT companion courses. I encourage all you to form groups of four or five as soon as possible since students who have already created groups beforehand have a great advantage in successfully completing the seminars.
