To compile and run programs with the use of functions, you first need an installed Java Runtime Environment (JRE1.1.*) at your computer. If you don't have one, please go first to the link section and download it (Please do not use the newer JRE1.2, cause its still bigger, slower and buggy). The JRE has to be in your PATH variable. To test it, open a shell and type:
$ jre
If the JRE is correctly installed, you will see the Java Runtime Environment options.

To compile a program with the use of japi functions you have to include the fortran module japi.mod into your source file.
USE japi
Next you have to link the libjapi.a library to your object files:
$ F yourprog.f -o yourprog -ljapi

Download the module japi.mod (required)

Download the library (zipped) (required)

Download the module source japi.f90 (optional)

Download the sources (zipped tarball) (optional)

Download some Fortran examples (optional)
