Welcome to Koblenz

Welcome to one of the oldest towns in Germany

Founded by the Romans, who called it 'castellum apud confluentes' - meaning 'castle at the confluence of the rivers' - Koblenz, with it's more than 2000 year old history, is one of the oldest cities in Germany. The City is situated in between the picturesque landscape where the river Moselle merges into the Rhine at the famous 'Deutsches Eck' . Known for excellent wine, romantic ancient castles, the 'Loreley' and Goethe, Koblenz sits directly in the UNESCO world heritage 'Oberes Mittelrheintal' and offers thus numerous possibilities for trips into the nature of the surrounding country. Despite it's ancient history, Koblenz is an ambitious city with a modern infrastructure and a young spirit.

Koblenz offers a variety of spare time activities, like sightseeing, numerous museums, boat trips on the Rhine or the Moselle, trips like hiking or biking tours in the wonderful Rhine Valley nature. With countless bars and restaurants, the historic downtown provides a large number of possibilities for spending the evening.
