Award giving ceremony during the European Robotics Forum 2017 in Edinburgh

Yesterday in the evening our team received the awards for the last season of the European Robotics League. The participation was a huge success for the team. We got awarded with four of the five possible prices namely:

  • Best-in-Class Task Benchmark: “Getting to Know My Home”

  • Best-in-Class Task Benchmark: “Visit My Home”

  • Best-in-Class Task Benchmark: “General Purpose Service Robot (GPSR)”

  • Best-in-Class Functionality Benchmark: “Object Perception”

The event took place at a very nice location during the banquet / award dinner in the national Scottish museum. In addition to the awards we also have received hardware prices sponsored by Texas Instruments in form of SensorTags. We are looking forward to integrate them.

Traditional bagpipes music should not be missing on an event like this and representatives have adapted to the traditional clothing style by wearing kilts throughout the evening.

At the event was also announced where the upcoming season events will take place and PAL robotics as a new platinum sponsor of the league.

Today Raphael presented the team’s experience during the ERF 2017 workshop “European robotics competitions and challenges: status quo and lessons learned”.

We have to thank all participants during the last competition, the great work of the organization teams and our supporters namely the StuPa of our university, euRobotics and the unit for Research, Knowledge Transfer from our university.
