Day 2 - Restaurant
The robot is tested in a real environment such as a real restaurant or a shopping mall. This test focuses on online mapping, safe navigation in previously unknown environments, gesture detection, human-robot interaction, and manipulation in a real environment. The robot will need to create it’s own map from the environment and then move into it to handle human requests, such as delivering drinks or snacks, while people are walking around.
The start was quit well, Lisa was able to follow the operator and memorise the first two tables. Aftrwards she lost the operator and collided with the third table, so that we decided to restart the challenge. The restart wasn’t as goot as expected: the speech recognition failed and after a while the time was over. Nevertheless we were the second best team at this challenge.
